In a landmark move, the Abhay Bhutada Foundation donated Rs 51 lakh to Shivsrushti, a historical theme park in Pune’s Ambegaon Budruk. This contribution enabled a Rs 50 entry ticket offer valid from May 15 to July 15, 2025.

This initiative was created to ensure that every citizen, regardless of income level, can experience the stories and values of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Tickets are available exclusively through Shivsrushti’s official website.

Shivsrushti spans 21 acres and offers an immersive experience of the Maratha era. Features include:

  • Time Machine Theatre: A multi-sensory theatre using holography and 3D mapping.

  • Durg Vaibhav and Ranangan: Exhibits explaining Shivaji Maharaj’s military strategies and fort planning.

  • Shrimant Yogi and Sinhasanadhishwar: Zones focusing on his leadership and governance.

  • Cultural Monuments: Replicas of Tulja Bhavani temple, Ganga Sagar lake, and heritage paintings.

The vision was originally driven by the late Babasaheb Purandare, and Shivsrushti Chairman Jagdish Kadam confirmed that the project was meant to educate citizens through engaging formats. The support from the Abhay Bhutada Foundation is enabling this dream to reach thousands more.

STEM Kits That Inspire Future Thinkers

In August 2024, the Foundation partnered with Sakar Eduskills to support the “LearnByDoing” initiative. The goal was to make science more accessible for children in underserved schools. Through this effort, STEM kits were distributed to over 2000 students across eight schools in Pune district—including in villages like Bursewadi, Bahul, and Sangise.

These kits are designed to encourage hands-on learning in science and math. Each kit contains items like a periscope, microscope, and human anatomy model, helping students visualize and understand complex topics.

A teacher from Kelgaon shared that for many students, this was their first time interacting with scientific tools. A class 7 student mentioned how the microscope changed the way they understood biology. It sparked both excitement and interest in science, encouraging classroom participation.

For rural areas where lab equipment and resources are limited, this effort opens new doors. It also motivates parents to keep their children in school, knowing they now have access to better learning opportunities.

Scholarships That Remove Financial Barriers

In October 2024, the Abhay Bhutada Foundation collaborated with the Maheshwari Vidya Pracharak Mandal (MVPM) to support students from the Maheshwari community. A formal scholarship ceremony took place in Pune, with Abhay Bhutada present as chief guest.

The scholarships were awarded across two categories

  • Merit-based: 10 students received Rs 1 lakh each for academic excellence.

  • Need-based: 15 students received Rs 1 lakh each based on financial hardship.

To ensure fairness, the application process included online submissions, followed by document verification and interviews conducted by a joint committee from MVPM and the Foundation.

This initiative demonstrates how scholarships can create real impact—not just by offering financial aid, but by giving students the encouragement and visibility they need to keep pursuing higher goals.
